Olivier CappéDeputy Scientific Director for Transversal Scientific Programmes

Olivier Cappé is currently a CNRS research director in the Computer Science Department at the École Normale Supérieure (DI ENS - CNRS/ENS/Inria). He qualified as an engineer at Supélec in 1990 before obtaining a doctorate in 1993 at the ENST (currently Télécom ParisTech). He joined the Paris Laboratory for Communication and Processing of Information (LTCI) in 1996 as a CNRS researcher. He was deputy director of the LTCI from 2009 to 2012 then its director from 2013 to 2016 before joining the Computer Science Department at the École Normale Supérieure (DI ENS - CNRS/ENS/Inria) in 2018.

His research focuses on statistical signal processing and machine learning. In 2013, he was awarded the Grand Prix by the French Academy of Sciences's EADS (Information Science) Foundation.
