Marc Gouttefarde-TanichRobotics Scientific Advisor

Marc Gouttefarde-Tanich is a CNRS research director and works at the Laboratoire d'Informatique, de Robotique et de Microélectronique de Montpellier (LIRMM - CNRS/University of Montpellier).

He obtained a PhD in robotics from Laval University (Quebec, Canada) in 2005. After a post-doctoral stay at Inria Sophia Antipolis, he joined the LIRMM as a CNRS researcher in 2007 and was then appointed research director in 2017. He is currently the head of LIRMM robotics department.

His research activities are mainly devoted to large-dimension cable-driven parallel robots carrying heavy loads. His main interests and results concern the modeling, performance analysis and synthesis, design, control and industrial applications of cable-driven parallel robots.
